2009
31 October
Paper self assessment tax return for 2008/09 due - Deadline now passed - if you wish to avoid the chance of a penalty your return must now be filed online by 31 January 2010.
30 November
New last chance deadline for notifying HMRC of offshore accounts and assets tax or duty liabilities
2010
1 January
VAT rate reverts to 17.5% from 15%
31 January
Online self assessment tax return for 2008/09 due
Final instalment of self assessment tax due for 2008/09 and first instalment of tax due for 2009/10
